The Theater Salon is set to take place on September 27th and will be presented by Guest Artist Danielle Wirsanky, a playwright and director of the White Mouse Theatre Production. Wirsanky is interested in how the Dramatic Arts have historically empowered LGBTQ stories to respond to public conflicts and crises such as WWII. Styling the collaborative exercises in the same thought, student artists will be paired into groups and given a relevant social issue with which they will create a Leading Character that can respond to the problem in a way they maybe cannot. Students will be encouraged to make this character in different forms, perhaps a monologue, a scene, or even a costume design, and discover the various methods to “talk back” in theater.
